Whinfell Quarry Garden – aerial virtual tourAMP

Whinfell Quarry in Whirlow near Dore is a little known small garden that was created within an old, derelict flagstone quarry. It’s been owned by Sheffield City Council since 1968. Because of its sheltered position and humid environment, it is ideal for growing a wide range of interesting plants including Sequoia trees (giant redwoods), skunk cabbages, Himalayan blue poppies, and a golden maple. The garden was recently renovated and is looked after by the Friends of Whinfell Quarry Garden.

Use your mouse cursor to move around (on a desktop computer) or use touch to explore on a touch-screen device. Even better, put on a VR headset and get the full 360 degree experience!
